Volkswagen Transporter Alloy Wheels
Choosing The Right Wheels For Your Volkswagen Transporter!
The Volkswagen Transporter T5 T6 is one of the hardest and easiest vans to choose wheels for, its not very often you see hardest and easiest in the same sentence!
We will start with why the Transporter is that hardest van to choose wheels for.
Hardest, (in a good way!)
The Transporter makes it so hard to choose a wheel and tyre set up due to its great versatility, however once you have chose your package the van will look awesome!
The range of style options, wheel sizes, wheel set ups are endless which make the decision harder.
Before looking for a wheel and tyre package you would need to think about what style of set up you would like to go for.
What I mean by style set up is either the All Terrain (Swamper) or the more conventional look.
I wont go in to much details on the Swamper set up as I will do another separate post explaining everything you need to know!
If you are looking for the more conventional look 18" would be the most popular option.
The 18" look and sit great, they also have a nice sidewall to provide a nice comfortable ride.
If you wanted to run an option not quite as big as the 20" but bigger than 18" then 19" would be recommended, its an in between size and options are limited.
20" would be the biggest size we would recommend.
The 20" staggered set up provides a great stance for the van, the wider rear wheels look awesome.
We work closely with brands such as AXE, Rotiform and Velare which all make wheels which suit any van!
Why the Transporter is the Easiest Van To Choose Wheels For!
As mentioned above the options and set ups are vast.
However, you will do well to find a wheel which doesn't suit the Transporter!
With all the options available making a decision can be easy!
How Do You Go About Choosing The Right Wheel?
Before looking for a wheel you first need to decide what the van is being used for.
For example, 20" staggered wheels wouldn't be recommended for vehicles used on building sites, reason being is that the sidewall of the tyres are low.
Being on and off sites all day will increase the risks of blow out and buckled wheels.
If your using the van for work or pleasure and want to make an enhancement to the van the 18" would be ideal.
Most vans will have 16" and jumping to 18" will work wonders for the look.
If your looking to use your vans in campsites and in Europe the 17" All Terrain Swamper would be a good option.
The All Terrains work perfectly on grassy camp sites, gravel lanes and are a bit more pot hole friendly.
If you looking to the lower the van and want to give it a nice stance the 20" options will be a perfect fit!
Each size has its pros and cons however if you base your search on what the van is used for it will help with any search.
I hope this covers with any wheel search's.
